Introduction

The Douglas Wright Holland Knight (DWK) is a method for making qualitative judgments about the relative importance of qualitative data. It was developed by Douglas Wright and his colleagues at the University of Lancaster from the mid-1970s to the early 1980s, although it has been revised several times.

Doug Wright was born in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. He attended Oklahoma City University and Harvard University, where he received his law degree.

He served in the Oklahoma Senate from 1998 to 2002, representing District 43 (Norman). As Senator Wright’s district included Norman and Moore, he gained experience in urban and suburban communities. After serving as a member of the faculty at the University of Tulsa College of Law from 1998-2002 and an assistant attorney general for the State of Oklahoma from 2002-2003, Senator Wright went on to serve as a fellow at Harvard University’s John F. Kennedy School of Government before returning to his native state where he continued his public service through various roles including serving as legal counsel to Gov. Brad Henry (2005-2009) and vice president for development at The Curate Foundation (2008-2010).

Holland & Knight is a law firm headquartered in Miami, Florida. However, they have offices in many cities worldwide and are one of the top 100 largest law firms by revenue. In addition, Holland & Knight has been recognized as one of Fortune magazine’s “100 Best Workplaces for Diversity.” They specialise in white-collar crime, intellectual property litigation and litigation finance.

A lawyer, senator and humanitarian, Douglas Wright Holland Knight was born in Muskogee, Oklahoma, on May 12, 1911, to parents Thomas James Knight and Norma Wright. He graduated from high school at age 16. He attended Phillips University, earning a bachelor’s degree in 1930, followed by a law degree from the University of Oklahoma College of Law in 1932.

In 1935 he married Mary Wilkerson, who would become his partner in many civic activities. Together they had three children: Tom Jr., James “Jamie” (1940-2010) and Carolyn Ann Wright (1942-2008).

Knight served as Lieutenant Governor from 1941 until 1943 when he became governor upon the death of Henry Bellmon. The latter had been appointed to the U.S Senate seat vacated by Elmer Thomas after his death. In 1945 Governor Holland led efforts that resulted in approval for construction of the present capitol building, which was completed in 1953 using native sandstone similar to nearby ruins found throughout northeast Oklahoma territory at this period under the direction of architect Fred Latham.

Jr., who also designed several other state buildings including Guthrie Centre Public Library as well as other prominent buildings throughout Oklahoma including Tulsa’s BOK Tower; Tulsa Municipal Airport Terminal Building; First National Bank Building; Hotel Tulsa (now known as Skirvin Hilton Downtown); Mercury Savings & Loan Building; Police Headquarters Building – all located within a downtown area near City Hall Plaza where an old courthouse building once stood before being demolished last construction project began.

Conclusion

Douglas Wright Holland Knight is a medical director at the University of Virginia’s Department of Psychiatry. His research focuses on gender identity and sexual orientation issues in children and adolescents. He was recently an editor-in-chief for the American Psychiatric Association’s handbook of clinical child psychology, which will be released in 2020.
