Tips on how to assist your baby return to high school and ease their fears
It’s not just the parents who are scared of sending kids back to school. Kids, too, are worried about the pandemic changing their lives and the way they will learn now. Just like they took a while to adapt to online learning, it will also take them a while to adapt to this new change and as they do, be ready to calm any fears they have, validate their emotions.
Instead of ignoring their feelings, acknowledge them and offer reassuring advice. Let them know it is okay to feel scared or nervous, and teachers and parents are ready to help them settle.
At the same time, also explain to your child that the additional safety measures put in place at the school are also key in quashing their fears, and hence, they shouldn’t ignore them.
